The Subcommittee on Security and Defence will exchange views with Mr Chris Peeters, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, on the EIB’s Strategic European Security Initiative, on 25 March. The Subcommittee on Tax Matters will hold a public hearing "How to reinforce the regulation of intermediaries to create an intermediary sector that ensures a fair and user-friendly tax system?" on 25 April. Speakers include Tax Advisers Europe, KPMG, a tax professor and a specialised journalist. Tax intermediaries contribute to tax systems by facilitating tax compliance and tax collection. However, it appears that some of them are involved in abusive tax avoidance and tax evasion schemes.
