Comisión Especial sobre la Crisis de la Vivienda en la Unión Europea

HOUS Special committee Members voted on the draft report on the Housing crisis in the European Union with the aim of proposing solutions for decent, sustainable and affordable housing, Monday 9 February at 19.00 in Strasbourg. 1456 amendment were tabled to the draft report and 49 compromises will be submitted to the vote. The Final Report was adopted by the Members with 23 votes in favour, 6 votes against and 4 abstentions.

On 27 January, from 9:00 to 11:45, the HOUS Committee held an exchange of views with representatives from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) as well as the Commission’s statistical office (Eurostat).

The HOUS Committee invites Commissioner Dan Jørgensen to present the European Commission's Affordable Housing Plan, adopted on 16 December 2025. Members will have the opportunity to discuss the Plan's key measures, implementation strategy, and its contribution to addressing the housing crisis across the European Union, ahead the adoption of the Committee's own report.

The study presentation will take place during the HOUS committee meeting on 12 January 2026 at 17h30 in Altiero Spinelli Building – Room A3G3.
