An IMCO Delegation will visit Beijing and Shanghai to gain first-hand insight into China’s leadership in e-commerce, its customs and logistics systems, and their influence on consumer behaviour and market trends. The mission aims to explore how digital trade innovations shape access and choice, assess impacts on European consumers, and identify lessons to strengthen EU consumer rights and market fairness.

From 28 to 30 October 2025, an IMCO delegation carried out a mission to Vietnam to engage in discussions on a number of issues of high relevance to the Committee’s work. The visit focused on e-commerce, product safety, digitalisation, customs, market surveillance, and consumer protection.

From 15 to 17 September 2025, a delegation composed of Members from the IMCO Committee and led by its Vice-Chair, Ms Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz, visited Denmark and Sweden to discuss Single Market issues such as digitalisation, consumer protection, procurement, and internal market implementation. The visit included meetings with key government and business stakeholders, including Ms Caroline Stage, the Danish Minister for Digital Affairs and site visits to key industrial and transport hubs.

Argentina

At the IMCO meeting of 25 June 2025, Andreas Schwab (EPP), Head of the IMCO delegation to Buenos Aires (Argentina), reported back from the mission that took place on 26-30 May 2025. Mr Schwab highlighted that the IMCO Delegation’s visit underscored both the differences and shared interests between the EU and Argentina, particularly in the areas of business simplification, public administration reform, and the development of legislation concerning AI and online platforms.

On 25 June 2025, Christian DOLESCHAL (EPP), Head of the IMCO delegation to Bologna, reported back from the mission that took place on 14-16 April 2025. Mr Doleschal underlined that the aim of the mission was to assess how EU legislation relevant with IMCO activities is implemented locally and which challenges have been identified so far. During the mission, Members had the opportunity to assess the impact of EU policies on local businesses and explore opportunities for economic growth.

During the IMCO Committee meeting of 17 March 2025, the Chair, Anna Cavazzini, reported back on the key takeaways from the recent visit to Washington D.C. From 25 to 28 February 2025, IMCO Members held several meetings in Washington, D.C. The main aim of this visit was to strengthen transatlantic cooperation on key IMCO policy areas while obtaining feedback from U.S. stakeholders on the implementation and impact of major EU legislation.

From 6–10 January 2025, an IMCO Delegation visited Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore to engage with governmental bodies, academia, and other relevant stakeholders. The discussions covered key EU legislative acts related to digital services, digital markets, AI, product safety, and consumer protection. The delegation also aimed to enhance EU-India cooperation, promoting digital innovation and addressing challenges in e-commerce.
