Asuntos destacados
At the joint SANT-ITRE Committee meeting of 19 March, Olivér Várhelyi, Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare, will present the European Biotech Act. This will be followed by a Q&A session with Members.
At the ITRE Committee meeting of 26 February, ITRE Members had a topical debate on the concrete implementation of the steel and metals action plan, in the presence of a representative from DG GROW, European Commission.
On 26 February, the ITRE Committee held a Public Hearing on “Horizon Europe 2028-2034: Expert views and consideration”.
On 25 February 2026, the ITRE Committee held a Public Hearing on the "European Competitiveness Fund". Members had the opportunity to discuss the proposal for the second biggest fund of the next MFF 2028-2034 with a panel of five distinguished experts including the 2025 Nobel Prize Winner in Economics.
The Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) and Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) organised a joint public hearing with the title: “Cyber-defence and cybersecurity”, which took place on 29 January 2026 (09.00-10.30).
