Next meeting of the Committee on Budgets

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.

Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions. The meetings allow for remote participation in a virtual environment.

Following these decisions, the next BUDG Committee meetings will take place on:

Monday 21 June 2021 - 13.45-15.45

Tuesday 22 June 2021 - 09.00-12.00 and 13.45-15.45

On Tuesday 22 June, Members of the Committee on Budgets (BUDG) and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) will exchange views with Gert Jan Koopman, Director General of DG Budget in the European Commission, on the implementation of climate and biodiversity mainstreaming in the EU budget.

The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aims to provides support to people losing their jobs as a result of major structural changes in world trade patterns due to globalisation or to the global crisis caused by COVID-19. On 10 May, Members of the Committee on Budgets examined and voted on decision to mobilise the EGF in favour of workers in Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany and the Netherlands.
