On 17 March 2022, AGRI Committees will held workshop on "Developing organic farming and assessing its impact on the EU food sector:

Economic implications and opportunities for organic production in the EU" organised by Policy Department for Structural and Cohesion Policies at the request of the Members of AGRI Committee. The aim of this workshop is to link closer the different aspects treated in the ongoing AGRI own-initiative report on "The EU Action plan on Organic Agriculture", Rapporteur Ms Simone Schmiedtbauer (EPP, AT). The workshop comprised three panels; the that will focus on the 'overview of the prospects and developments for organic farming in the EU and impacts on the food sector'; on the Eco-districts, a successful example of geographically integrated development projects of organic production and consumption' and finally will look more closely on 'How do Member States plan to support organic farming through their national strategic plans?'
