On 23 March 2021, the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM), in association with the Committee on Development (DEVE), organized the side event on "Enhancing gender equality and women's empowerment in the Covid-19 recovery”. The side event took place between 17.00 – 18.45 CET (12.00 – 13.45 EST).

TRAN Members discussed with experts the prospects of the use of hydrogen fuel in the transport sector and the related technologies for road, rail, waterborne and air transport.

The eighth meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on Europol (JPSG) took place on 1-2 February 2021 in Lisbon, Portugal and via remote participation due to the pandemic. The JPSG brought together Members of national parliaments and the European Parliament to fulfil the scrutiny and oversight on the activities of Europol including on fundamental rights.

During the AFCO meeting of 2 December 2020, Dr. Andreas MAURER, Professor for Political Science and European Integration Studies, University of Innsbruck (Austria) presented a study commissioned by the Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs on request of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs on “The European Parliament’s right of initiative”.

On 27 October 2020, the Policy Department for Structural and Cohesion Policies presented a new study "Impact of the use of offshore wind and other marine renewables on European fisheries" at the PECH Committee meeting.

At the initiative of the FEMM Committee, the European Parliament held its first ever European Gender Equality Week during the last week of October 2020.

On 12 October 2020, the Policy Department for Structural and Cohesion Policies presented a new study "Implementation of the current EU fisheries control system by Member States (2014-19)" at the PECH Committee meeting.

The seventh meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on Europol (JPSG) will take place on 28-29 September 2020 in Brussels and via remote participation due to the pandemic. The JPSG brings together Members of national parliaments and the European Parliament to fulfil the scrutiny and oversight on the activities of Europol including on fundamental rights.

The sixth meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on Europol (JPSG) was to be held on 22-23 March 2020 in Zagreb. Due to outbreak of the Covid-19 the JPSG Co-Chairs decided to cancel the meeting and organise instead an exchange of information by electronic means.

During the PECH committee meeting of 19 February 2020 an exchange of views on "Challenges and Opportunities for the fishing sector in the Black Sea" took place. The presentations of the experts highlighted the main concerns regarding the fishing sector in the Black Sea and key aspects for the recovery of sturgeons, the most valuable fish species from the Black Sea.

During the AFCO meeting of 28 January, Election-Watch.EU presented their Assessment Mission Final Report on the European elections of 2019.
