ENVI Committee meetings
During the constitutive meeting, the bureau members have been elected, made up of a Chair and Vice-Chairs, for a two-and-a-half year mandate:
- Chair: Mr Antonio DECARO (S-D, IT)
- 1st Vice-Chair: Ms Esther HERRANZ GARCÍA (EPP, ES)
- 2nd Vice-Chair: Mr Pietro FIOCCHI (ECR, IT)
- 3rd Vice-Chair: Ms Anja HAZEKAMP (The Left, NL)
- 4th Vice-Chair: Mr András Tivadar KULJA (PPE, HU)
The next ENVI committee meetings will take place on:
- 14 October 2024, from 17:00 to 18:45 (Brussels)
- 21 October 2024, from 19:00 to 20:15 (Strasbourg)

On 14 October, ENVI Members will discuss various objections to the authorisation of several genetically modified (GM) products, including maize and cotton. The Committee will consider eight draft motions for a resolution related to these objections.
On 14 October, ENVI Members will hold an exchange of views about the Proposal to delay the application of the Deforestation Regulation
On the 7th of October, ENVI Members held an exchange of views with Dr. István Nagy, the Hungarian Minister for Agriculture. The discussion focused on Hungary's priorities for the EU agricultural policy under its Council Presidency.
On 3 October, the European Commission presented its Communication: "The Clean Transition Dialogues – Stocktaking a Strong European Industry for a Sustainable Europe."
On 3 October, ENVI Members held an exchange of views with the Commission on the scientific opinion of the European Food Safety Authority on New Genomic Techniques.
On 3 October, the European Commission updated ENVI Members on the CBD COP16 Biodiversity Conference, which took place in Cali from 21 October to 1 November 2024.
On 3 October, ENVI Members held an exchange of views about the Plastics Treaty progress with the representatives of the United Nations Environment Programme and the European Commission.
On 23 September, ENVI Members held an exchange of views with the State Secretary for Environmental Affairs and the Circular Economy, Dr Anikó Raisz. The debates focused on the priorities of the Hungarian Council.
On 23 September, ENVI Members held an exchange of views with the Secretary of State for Health, Dr Péter Takács. The debates focused on the priorities of the Hungarian Council Presidency.
