Petitions on LGBTQI discrimination in Poland – Debate: 26.01.2021

At the meeting of 26 January 2021, the Committee examined two petitions raising the issues of discrimination of the LGBTQI community and the creation of LGBT-free zones in Poland. The petitioners call for the intervention of the EU institutions to stop the defamation, violence and hate speech against LGBTQI persons and to abolish LGBT-free zones, as they are incompatible with the Charter of Fundamental Rights, the Treaties and values of the EU.
