The next meeting of the Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 15 July 2026 from 9:00 - 12:30 and 14:30 - 18:30 in Brussels (room ANTALL 6Q2).
An extraordinary SEDE meeting with the Irish Presidency will be held on Tuesday, 14 July 2026 from 14:00 - 16:00 in Brussels (SPAAK 5B1).

On 14 July, , the Irish Minister responsible for Defence, Helen McEntee, will present the security and defence priorities for the Irish Presidency to SEDE Members. The following day, Members will have the opportunity to discuss the security and defence challenges faced by Moldova with the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister, Mihai Popsoi.

At its meeting on 23 June, the Joint SEDE–TRAN Committee will vote on the draft report concerning the proposed Regulation on Military Mobility. The draft report contains several amendments aimed at facilitating the transport of military equipment, goods, and personnel, while minimising and mitigating the impact of such movements on civilian transport.

On 22 June, Alice Rufo, Deputy Minister to the Minister of the Armed Forces of France will brief SEDE on "forward deterrence" in the context of the updated French nuclear doctrine and European Security. A joint four-Committee (AFET/SEDE/INTA/BUDG) exchange of views will be held on the "Ukraine Support Loan Dialogue". On 23 June, SEDE Members will assess the implementation of the EU's Security Action for Europe (SAFE) loan programme with the European Commission's DG DEFIS.
