On 11 January 2024, Mr Jan Jambon (Minister-President of the Government of Flanders) and Mr Benjamin Dalle (Flemish Minister for Brussels Affairs, Youth, Media and Poverty Reduction) will present the priorities of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the area of Culture and Education in the CULT Committee.

On 28 November, the Committee on Culture and Education voted on the following implementation reports: "Erasmus+ programme 2021-2027"; "Creative Europe programme 2021-2027" and "Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme 2021-2027 – citizens' engagement and participation". On the same date, the Committee also voted on two own-initiative reports: "European historical consciousness" and Cultural diversity and the conditions for authors in the European music streaming market.

The Committee on Culture and Education, with the support of the Legislative Dialogue Unit of the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments, hosted an Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM) on “European Citizenship Education”. The event has taken place on Monday, 27th of November 2023 from 14:00 to 20:00 CET and on Tuesday, 28th of November 2023 from 9:30 to 12:30 CET at the European Parliament in Brussels (Room - József Antall 6Q2).

On 28 November Committee on Culture and education held an exchange of views with the young winners of the 2023 European Charlemagne Youth Prize - an award that is given to youth-run projects that support democracy in Europe and promote cooperation and understanding both in Europe and internationally.
