Next CULT Committee meeting: 15 - 16 June 2022.


In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.
Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.
Following these decisions, the next CULT Committee meeting will take place on:
Wednesday 15 June and Thursday 16 June.

On 17 May the CULT Committee held an exchange of views on “Culture in times of crisis – cultural solidarity in support of Ukraine and beyond” with leading European organisations in the cultural sector (Culture Action Europe, European Cultural Foundation and Europa Nostra) engaged in a wide mobilisation for solidarity actions in support of Ukraine.

The Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) discussed the draft report on "E-sport and video games", which was presented by the Rapporteur, Ms Farreng (Renew Group) on 17 May. The draft report focuses on the challenges, opportunities and on the need for a European strategy and framework on the sector. The vote is foreseen to take place on 29 September 2022.

On Monday, 25 the CULT Committee held a structured dialogue with Commissioner Gabriel on urgent policy measures aimed at tackling the consequences of the ongoing war in Ukraine in the fields of education, culture youth and sports.
