A delegation of 4 Members from three Committees traveled to Geneva from 13 to 15 December 2023 to attend to the second Global Refugee Forum organised by the UNHCR

A delegation of 3 Members traveled to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) from 24 to 26 July 2023. The delegation was led by MEP Karsten Lucke (S&D, DE).

A delegation of 10 Members of the European Parliament, from the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the Committee on Development, will take part in the ministerial segment of the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, 17-19 July 2023 in New York, USA.

A delegation of four Members from the DEVE Committee traveled to Zambia from 19 to 21 June 2023. The delegation was led by MEP Pierrette Herzberger-Fofana (Verts/ALE, Germany) and was carried out jointly with the EU Commissioner for international partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, making it the first ‘Team Europe’ development mission involving both the Parliament and the Commission.

A delegation of 6 Members traveled to Senegal from 15 to 17 May 2023. The delegation was led by MEP Catherine Chabaud (Renew, FR). The purpose was to review the EU development portfolio in the country, especially in the context of the new programming period.

Kenya is a key economic and political partner for the European Union and plays an important role as a peace broker in the region and is a leader when it comes to producing regional energy. It also faces a number of challenges with one million children under five malnourished. In this context, a delegation of six members from the Committee on Development, chaired by MEP Pierrette Herzberger-Fofana, traveled there from 3 to 5 April 2023.

On 16 March 2023, a delegation of Members from the Committee of Foreign Affairs (AFET) and on Development (DEVE) visited the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. Members held discussions on EIB external action, especially activities of the ‘EIB Global’ branch which was set up in January 2022. This new branch promotes investments outside the EU, supporting EU partnerships around the world, in particular in climate change, innovation and development.

A delegation of five members from the Committee on Development, chaired by Tomas Tobé, traveled to Washington DC from 21 to 23 February 2023.

A delegation of five members from the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) and the Committee on Development (DEVE), traveled to Ethiopia on 20-22 September 2022.

A delegation of four members from the Committee on Development, chaired by Stéphane Bijoux, was in Indonesia from 20 to 22 September 2022.

A delegation of 7 Members of the European Parliament, from the Committee on Development and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, took part in the ministerial segment of the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, 13-15 July 2022 in New York, USA.

A group of 12 MEPs from the Committees on Fisheries, Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and Development were part of the EU delegation to the UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon from 27 June to 1 July 2022.
