Members of the Committee met on 20 September to discuss:
  • EU development cooperation to enhance access to education and training in developing countries
  • Energy needs in Africa and the green transition
  • Sakharov Prize 2023: Presentation of candidates
  • Demining actions in Ukraine as a consequence of Russia's war of aggression
  • Implementation of the EU-Southern African Development Community (SADC) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)
  • Shaping the EU's position on the UN binding instrument on business and human rights, in particular on access to remedy and the protection of victims
On 21 September, the debriefing on the presidential and parliamentary elections in Zimbabwe and Guatemala took place jointly with the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The next DEVE meeting will take place on 24 October 2023.
