EMPL constitutive meeting - election of EMPL Chair and Vice-Chairs
During its constitutive meeting on 23 July 2024, the EMPL Committee has elected its bureau up to the third Vice-Chair, for a two-and-a-half year mandate:
Chair: Li Andersson (The Left, FI)
First Vice-Chair: Johan Danielsson (S&D, SV)
Second Vice-Chair: Jagna Marczułajtis-Walczak (EPP, PL)
Third Vice-Chair: Katrin Langensiepen (Greens/AFE, DE)
The election of the fourth Vice-Chair was postponed. The next EMPL meeting will take place on 4 September in Brussels, from 14.30 - 18.30.
À ne pas manquer
As in previous years, EMPL will adopt its position on the 2025 EU budget. The Committee is to vote on budgetary amendments and on an opinion during the 4 September voting session. This position will feed into the work of the Committee on Budgets in preparing the 2025 budget of the European Union. MEP Romana Tomc has been appointed as the EMPL Rapporteur.
