In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.
Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.

On 2 June 2022, the JURI Committee will vote on the provisional agreement on Adapting a number of legal acts in the area of justice to Article 290 TFEU (2016/0399(COD)). Further, the Members will consider the draft recommendation on the accession by the European Union to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters (2021/0208(NLE)).

On 17 May 2022, the JURI Committee voted on the report on Better regulation (2021/2166(INI)). The Committee also organised a workshop on The Principle of primacy of EU law (co-organised by Policy Department C) and a public hearing on Legal tech and e-Justice. The Members also held an exchange of views with Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency.

On 11 May 2022, Members of the Committees on Budgetary Control (CONT) and Legal Affairs (JURI) will hold a joint committee meeting where ECA Member Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz will present Special Report 06/2022 "EU intellectual property rights: protection not fully waterproof".

On 28 April 2022, the JURI Committee held an exchange of views with with Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for A Europe Fit for the Digital Age, with Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for Budget and Administration and with Thierry Breton, Commissioner for Internal Market.

On 25 April 2022, the JURI Committee held Interparliamentary Committee Meeting on The EU's Subsidiarity Mechanism. Moreover, it also held an exchange of views with Didier Reynders, Commissioner for Justice.

The European Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) organized on 25 April 2022, from 13.45 to 15.45, an Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM) with National Parliaments on “The EU's Subsidiarity mechanism”.

On 21 April 2022, the extraordinary joint meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs took place to discuss the risk of illegal adoption of Ukrainian children from institutional care.

he Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) and the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) jointly organised an online inter-parliamentary meeting with National Parliaments on 21 April 2022 on "Corporate Responsibility for serious human rights abuses in third countries". The Committee on International trade (INTA) was also associated to this event.
