The Policy Dialogue “EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS - CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES OF NEW DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES” will bring together Members of European Parliament and staff with academics from the European University Institute (https://www.eui.eu//) via video-conference between Florence and Brussels. The academics invited have done important research on the impact of informational tools on their users in the context of democratic elections.
On 2 July, during the meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, an exchange of views was held on Brexit preparedness with Pascal Leardini, Director of Institutional and Administrative Policies, Brexit Preparedness Group, European Commission. This was followed by an exchange of views with the EP Coordinator on Brexit, Guy Verhofstadt and Danuta Hübner, member of the Parliament's Brexit Steering Group, about the state of play of negotiations.

During the AFCO meeting of 21 November, the Committee heard from two citizens' associations about the impact of Brexit on EU citizens in the UK and UK citizens living in the EU.

During the AFCO meeting of 21 November, the Committee heard from two experts during the workshop 'Brexit and the issue of the jurisdiction over the Withdrawal Agreement and the future relationship agreement between the EU and the UK' organised by the Policy Department for Citizens’ Rights and Constitutional Affairs.
On 11 October 2017, an exchange of views was held in AFCO committee on the preparation for the draft report on "Role of cities in the institutional framework of the Union" (Rapporteur: Mr Ujazdowski).
During the meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs on 28 September, a workshop was held on 'The impact and consequences of Brexit on the devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and on the Overseas Territory of Gibraltar'. During this workshop, presentations were given on two research papers commissioned by the Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs.

During AFCO's meeting of 12 July, AFCO held an exchange of views on Brexit regarding the preparation of the negotiations on the withdrawal of the UK from the EU. The Committee heard from Guy Verhofstadt, the Parliament's coordinator for the negotiations on the UK withdrawal from the EU.
