On 14 January, EMPL Members will hold an in-depth debate on the EMPL aspects of the EU-UK trade and cooperation agreement. Representatives of the European Commission’s Task Force for Relations with the United Kingdom will debrief Members on the EU-UK Agreement on future relationship with the UK reached on 24 December 2020.


The EMPL Committee will vote on the provisional agreement resulting from interinstitutional negotiations on Amending Regulation (EU) No 223/2014 as regards the introduction of specific measures for addressing the COVID-19 crisis, on the draft report "Reducing inequalities with a special focus on in-work poverty" and on the draft opinion "New avenues for legal labour migration".

Furthermore, EMPL Members will consider the draft report "European Semester for economic policy coordination: Employment and social aspects in the Annual Sustainable Growth Strategy 2021", the draft opinion "Shaping the digital future of Europe", and six draft opinions on the 2019 discharge concerning the Commission, the Union agencies and Cedefop, Eurofound, EU-OSHA and ETF.
