At the upcoming meeting of the INTA Committee, Members will discuss the WTO Fisheries Agreement with Angela Ellard, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). The agreement requires the European Parliament's consent. INTA is responsible for preparing the European Parliament's position.

The Committee will also discuss the trade-related elements of the Commission's recent communication on "A Green Deal Industrial Plan for the Net-Zero Age", which aims to bolster the competitiveness of Europe's green industries and is widely seen as a response to increasing international distortions of competition such as the United States' Inflation Reduction Act. In addition, a number of other topical issues feature on the draft agenda, such as the trade and investment aspects of the Global Gateway initiative and of the EU's sanctions against Russia, as well as export controls and economic security.

Finally, a public hearing on "Building Resilient, Sustainable and Competitive Supply Chains in Critical Raw Materials" will take place. More information here.
