On Tuesday 15 July 2025, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and the Committee on Employment (EMPL) held an Economic Dialogue.

The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) held a public hearing with Claudia Buch, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the ECB on Tuesday, 15 July 2025. This was the first ordinary public hearing in 2025 under the Regulation on the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM Regulation) and the Interinstitutional Agreement between the European Parliament and the ECB.

ECON held a public hearing with Dr Wolf Klinz in the framework of his renewal as Chair of the Financial Reporting Board (FRB) of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG).

The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) held a public hearing with Dominique Laboureix, Chair of the Single Resolution Board (SRB) on Tuesday, 15 July 2025.

On 14 July 2025, ECON Members exchanged views with Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner for Economy and Productivity; Implementation and Simplification, and Piero Cipollone, Member of the ECB Executive Board, as well as John Berrigan, Director-General of DG FISMA of the European Commission, on the digital euro.

On 30 June 2025 from 18:30-20:00, ECON and LIBE Members exchanged views with Maria Luís Albuquerque, Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, on the amendment to the delegated regulation in relation to third countries which have strategic deficiencies in their AML/CTF regimes (High-Risk Third Countries).

On 24 June, Members of the Committee on Budgets (BUDG) and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) voted on the Commission proposal, which is part of a package aimed at simplifying EU rules, boosting competitiveness, and unlocking additional investment capacity.
