EMPL committee Meeting on 12 January 2023

During the EMPL Committee meeting on 12 January, the hearing of Ms Pilvi Tuulia Torsti, European Training Foundation (ETF) Director-Nominee, took place. After the discussion, EMPL Coordinators assessed the candidate and provided their views in the form of a letter, to be addressed to the President of the European Parliament.
Members also examined a draft report on the European Year of Skills and heard back from inter-institutional negotiations on the Pay Transparency Directive, for which a provisional agreement was reached on December 15, 2022. EMPL Members also considered a draft opinion on the new Commission communication on outermost regions.
