On Wednesday, 25 January 2023, FEMM Members voted on a draft resolution on the EU priorities for the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

The draft resolution addresses a number of recommendations to the Council, among which it calls to reconfirm its commitment to the Beijing Platform for Action. It also calls for the EU to show strong leadership and to take a unified position on the importance of empowering women and girls in all their diversity and achieving gender equality in the context of digital transformation. It calls for the EU to take strong action to univocally denounce the current backlash against gender equality, including policies and attempts to undermine women's rights, autonomy and emancipation in every field and to support calls for the standardisation of women's rights. It also asks to pledge its strong support for the work of UN Women.
