A delegation of six Members of the Committee on International Trade (INTA) and the DASE Chair will travel to Indonesia from 14 to 16 April 2025 to discuss political, economic, trade and investment relations with the EU.

On 8 April in the morning, AFET and INTA will hold a public hearing on the implementation of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. The European Commission will present its annual reports for the years 2023 and 2024.

On 8 April, Members will vote on the INTA position on two key legislative proposals: the revision of the foreign investment screening regulation and on the suspension of the EU Safeguard Regulation vis-à-vis Ukraine. Members will hold an in camera debate with DG Trade Director-General Sabine Weyand on EU-US trade relations following the announcement of US reciprocal tariffs of 2 April. Members will also exchange with the Commission on the state of play of EU-China trade and investment relations.

Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the WTO will participate in an extraordinary meeting of the Steering Group on the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO (PCWTO) on Tuesday, 18 March 2025.

On Thursday 20 March between 10.30 and 12.30, INTA Members will hold two key exchanges with trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič: on the EU response to US trade policy and on on the priorities for EU trade policy (Structured Dialogue). Members will also vote on reports providing macro-financial assistance to Jordan and Egypt and on a package of agreements with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway for a financial contribution to economic and social cohesion in the EEA and on fish imports into the EU.
