2-6 December: Disability rights week
The European Parliament will hold its second Disability Rights Week from 2 to 6 December 2024.
It is estimated that 16% of the global population currently experience significant disability, and this number is increasing due to population ageing and the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases.
People with disabilities need public health programs and healthcare services to be healthy, active, and engaged as part of the community. This will allow them to live on an equal footing and realise their full potential.
