Working conditions of platform workers
Exchange of views with stakeholders and Commissioner Schmit - Monday, 30 November, 17.00 – 18.45
On Monday 30 November, the EMPL Committee held an exchange of views with stakeholders and Commissioner Schmit on the working conditions, rights and social protection of platform workers.
This exchange took place in the context of the ongoing work on the own-initiative report "Fair working conditions, rights and social protection for platform workers - new forms of employment linked to digital development", rapporteur Sylvie Brunet (Renew). The draft report, due to be presented in committee in February 2021, would look into the challenges posed by platform work to working conditions and social protection and would propose possible pathways for EU action.
