On Tuesday, 10 May 2022, the FEMM Committee voted on the draft opinion on “Energy efficiency”.

Following the consideration of the draft opinion which took place on 10 February, the committee voted on 114 amendments and 18 compromises.

The Rapporteur Alice Kuhnke (Greens/EFA) draws on the states' commitments in the Paris Agreement to respect, promote and consider their obligations on human rights, including gender equality and recalls the Commission's commitment to integrate a gender perspective into all major initiatives including the European Green Deal and related policies. The amendments in the draft opinion call for specific measures to be designed to support women in all their diversity, to combat the feminisation of energy poverty and to include all vulnerable groups in the green transition.
