On 25 November 2023, we celebrated the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women, which continues under the “UNiTE to end violence against women” campaign, 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. This year the theme is “Invest to prevent violence against women & girls”.

On 30 November 2023, a meeting of the Network of Members in charge of Gender Mainstreaming will take place, where Members will hold an exchange of views with representatives of the Commission on the Update on Implementation of Gender Mainstreaming in the Recovery and Resilience Facility.

In the framework of disability week, the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) are jointly organizing a Hearing on Harmful practices in the EU towards women and girls with disabilities which will take place on 29 November at the European Parliament, from 14.30 to 16.00 in room Jozsef Antall (JAN) 6Q2.

On Tuesday, 7 November 2023, EMPL and FEMM Committees voted on the draft report on "Standards for equality bodies in the field of equal treatment and equal opportunities between women and men in matters of employment and occupation”.

On 7 November 2023 the FEMM and DEVE committees debated the Spotlight initiative report, in the presence of representatives of the ECA, the Commission and the UN.

On Tuesday, 7 November, FEMM Committee Members discussed the draft opinion on "The proposal for a directive on establishing the European Disability Card and the European Parking Card for persons with disabilities".

On Tuesday, 7 November the FEMM Committee voted on a draft opinion in form of a letter on Human rights and democracy in the world and the European Union’s policy on the matter – annual report 2023.

On 7 November the FEMM Committee Members heard a presentation by Mary Hyland, Eurofound regarding their surveys on energy and cost of living inflation. Since 2020 throughout Europe, people have been struggling with rising prices and the impacts are not equally borne.

On Tuesday, 24 October 2023, the FEMM and AFCO Committees jointly held a hearing on “Elect her - how to support women’s political participation”.
