At the ITRE Committee meeting of 11 November, ITRE Members held a topical debate on the future of the European automotive industry in the presence of external guests, including DG GROW, European Commission.

On 11 November 2025, the ITRE Committee held a Public Hearing on "Carbon Capture and Storage and Carbon Capture and Utilisation: pillars of industrial decarbonisation." Members had the opportunity to discuss current challenges on these important technologies with a panel of five experts.

The ITRE Committee took part in this year’s European Parliament Gender Equality Week by organising an exchange of views with the Representatives of the European Commission, DG GROW on The Role of Women in European Industry and Industrial Transition.

On Wednesday 5 November, ITRE and TRAN Committees held a joint meeting featuring a presentation of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) proposal by the Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Mr Apostolos Tzitzikostas, and Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Mr Dan Jørgensen.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 16 October, ITRE Members held a topical debate on the geothermal energy in the presence of external guests, including DG ENER, European Commission.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 16 October, Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, presented the Commission's proposal for Horizon Europe 2028-2034. This was followed by a Q&A session with ITRE Members.
