On Monday 28 April, from 15.00 to 16.00, Luis de Guindos, Vice-President of the European Central Bank (ECB), will as usual present to the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) the ECB’s Annual Report followed by an exchange of views.

On 23 April 2025, from 14:30 to 16:30, the BUDG and the ECON Committees hosted a public hearing on “InvestEU: lessons learned and future perspectives”.

On 8 April 2025 from 17:00 to 18:00, ECON and ENVI Members exchanged views with Maria Luís Albuquerque, Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, on the draft Delegated Regulation amending three key Delegated Acts adopted under the EU Taxonomy Regulation, namely the Disclosures (Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2178), Climate (Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2139) and Environment (Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2486) Delegated Acts.

The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) held a hearing to assess whether the growing importance of markets in crypto-assets has the potential to affect financial stability, on 8 April 2025.

On 8 April 2025, from 15.30 to 16.30, Piero Cipollone, Member of the ECB Executive Board, presented to the ECON Committee an update on the developments of the digital euro project.

ECON Members held a structured dialogue with Teresa Ribera, Executive Vice-President responsible for the EU's competition policy on Tuesday 8 April 2025, from 09:00 to 10:00.

On 7 April 2025, the ECA Special Report 09/2025 "Systems for ensuring compliance of RRF spending with public procurement and state aid rules" was jointly presented to Members of the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT) and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) by reporting ECA Member Jorg Kristijan Petrovič.

On Monday, 31 March 2025, from 20:15 to 22:15, Members from the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs held the 18th Recovery and Resilience Dialogue (RRD) with Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President responsible for Cohesion and Reforms and Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification.

On 31 March 2025, the Members of the ECON Committee held an exchange of views with Commissioner Dombrovskis on the activation of the national escape clause for defence expenditure as proposed by the Commission on 19 March 2025 in its Communication on Accommodating increased defence expenditure within the Stability and Growth Pact.
