The European Court of Auditors will present its Opinion 10/2026 on the proposal for a regulation establishing a budget expenditure tracking and performance framework and other horizontal rules for the Union programmes and activities, to the Committees on Budgets and on Budgetary Control, on 5 March 2026.
The European Court of Auditors will present its opinion on the proposal establishing the European Fund for economic, social and territorial cohesion, agriculture and rural, fisheries and maritime, prosperity and security 2028–2034 (NRP Fund) to the Committees on Budgets (BUDG), on Regional Development (REGI) and on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI).
On the occasion of the European Parliamentary Week 2026, organised by the European Parliament and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus, the Committee on Budgets will hold an Inter-Committee Meeting on Monday 23 February at 15.30-18.30.
On Monday, 9 February 2026, Members from the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs will hold a Recovery and Resilience Dialogue (RRD) with Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms and Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification.
Members from the BUDG Committee will exchange views with the Commission on the amendment to the MFF 2021-2027 foreseen in order to provide a guarantee and a solution for debt service costs related to the proposal for a Ukraine Support Loan.
Members from the BUDG Committee will exchange views on the amendments tabled to the draft interim report on the proposal for a Council regulation laying down the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034. More than a thousand of amendments have been tabled by BUDG Members.
The Commission proposed to adopt the decision to mobilize the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers (EGF) following the application from Belgium relating to 3 414 displaced workers whose activity had ceased in Audi and 5 suppliers and downstream producers, following the closure of Audi's production plant in Brussels.
The Committee on Budgets will hold a debate on the guidelines for next year's budget, presented by the general rapporteur for the 2027 budget, Mr Nils Ušakovs.
