On 24 April, ENVI will discuss the Commission’s recent reports on the implementation of the Water Framework Directive and the Floods Directive, covering river basin and flood risk management plans

On 24 April, ENVI will hold an exchange of views with the Commission on its planned actions concerning per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

On 23 April, ENVI will hold an exchange of views with the Commission on international climate negotiations ahead of COP30, which will take place in Belém, Brazil, in November.

On 8 April, ENVI will hold its annual exchange of views with Dr. Bernhard Url, Acting Executive Director of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), to discuss key food and feed safety issues, as well as EFSA’s latest risk assessments.

On 8 April, ENVI will vote on its opinion to AGRI regarding the Commission’s proposal on the welfare of dogs and cats and their traceability. The proposal introduces the first EU-wide minimum standards for the welfare of dogs and cats and aims to combat illegal trade.

On 8 April 2025, ENVI will vote on its own-initiative report on the European Water Resilience Strategy. Announced by the Commission for the second quarter of 2025, the Strategy aims to address, inter alia, growing water scarcity by improving water management practices, increasing water efficiency and promoting sustainable water use.

On 8 April, ENVI will hold an exchange of views with Commissioner Jessika Roswall as part of the structured dialogue. Members will discuss priority topics such as, the European Water Resilience Strategy, the Circular Economy Act, and other upcoming environmental initiatives.

On 7 April, ENVI will discuss the Commission’s draft working plan for Ecodesign for Sustainable Products and Energy Labelling. The plan will outline priorities for implementing the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which entered into force in July 2024, with a transition period till 2030, replacing Ecodesign Directive from 2009.

On 8 April 2025, ENVI Members will vote on their opinion on the BUDG draft report on "A Revamped Long-Term Budget for the Union in a Changing World," which sets the direction for the EU’s next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF)
