In the context of the exponential growth of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the President of the European Parliament has announced a number of measures to contain the spread of epidemic and to safeguard Parliament's core activities.
The current precautionary measures adopted by the European Parliament to contain the spread of COVID-19 do not affect work on legislative priorities. Core activities are reduced, but maintained to ensure that the institution's legislative, budgetary, scrutiny functions are maintained.
The meetings will be with remote participation for Members (being able to view and listen to proceedings, ask for the floor and intervene in the meeting). Other participants are invited to follow the meeting through web-streaming.

On Thursday, 4 March 2021, FEMM, in collaboration with the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments, organized an Inter-parliamentary Committee Meeting celebrating the IWD 2021, entitled "We are strong: Women leading the fight against Covid-19".
On 24 February 2021, the LIBE and FEMM Committees organised a joint hearing on "Attacks on abortion rights and breaches of the Rule of Law in Poland".
On 22 February 2021, the Committee of Legal Affairs and the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality discussed the joint draft own-initiative report on "The impact of intimate partner violence and custody rights on women and children".
On 4 February 2021, FEMM Members voted on the draft opinion to the Interim report on the “Council regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 168/2007 establishing a European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA)”. The opinion was adopted by 27 votes in favour, with 6 votes against and 0 abstentions.

On the 1st of February 2021, FEMM debated the draft opinion on “Shaping the digital future of Europe : removing barriers to the functioning of the digital single market and improving the use of AI for European consumers”.
