On 28 June, Members of the BUDG, CONT and FEMM Committees held a joint meeting to discuss the European Court of Auditors' Special Report on gender Budgeting, together with Commissioner for Budget and Administration Hahn, Director General Koopman and a representative of the European Institute for Gender Equality.

Ms Lindström of the European Court of Auditors presented the report "Gender mainstreaming in the EU budget: time to turn words into action".

During the negotiations on the EU's long term budget, the European Parliament, the European Commission and Council agreed in the Interinstitutional Agreement (IIA) of 16 December 2020 to:
- Develop a gender budgeting methodology to measure the relevant expenditure at programme level.
- No later than 1 January 2023, the Commission will implement that methodology for certain centrally managed programs.

The meeting took place at 14:45-16:45.
