Members of the Committee on Budgets will vote on the report prepared by the general rapporteur on the 2026 EU budget - Section III, Mr Andrzej Halicki, on the guidelines for the preparation of next year's budget.

As part of their scrutiny work on the Rule of law conditionality Regulation, the Committees on Budgets and on Budgetary control will hold a joint exchange of views with Piotr Serafin, Commissioner for Budget, Anti-Fraud and Public Administration on 19 March to discuss the state of implementation of the legislation.

On 6 March, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Budgets jointly confirmed the provisional agreement on the Reform and Growth Facility for Moldova that was reached as a result of interinstitutional negotiations.

On 4 March 2025, the Working Group on the Scrutiny of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) held its first meeting of the 10th parliamentary term. Discussions will focus on the 'State of play of the RRF: economic and social impact and RRF budgetary execution'.

BUDG members exchanged views with Ms Stéphanie Riso, European Commission's Director-General for Budget, on the state of play of the headroom in the EU Budget.

The co-rapporteurs for the next EU long term budget (multiannual financial framework - MFF), Siegfried Mureșan and Carla Tavares, presented their draft own initiative report 'A revamped long-term budget for the Union in a changing world'.

On the occasion of the European Parliamentary Week 2025, organised by the European Parliament and the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland, the Committee on Budgets held an Inter-Committee Meeting on Monday 17 February at 16.20-19.20.

On 10 February 2025, Members from the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs held the first Recovery and Resilience Dialogue (RRD) since the entry into office of the new European Commission with Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President of the Commission for Cohesion and Reforms and Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification.
