Meeting of the DEVE Committee 19 March
Debates:
- with the Commission and with Mr Moreira da Silva, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and UNOPS Executive DirectorEU/UNOPS on Global Gateway;
- with Mr Fletcher, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator on humanitarian Action in a changing world;
- with EIB Global, the World Bank and ECDPM on Financing for development, Global Gateway and engagement in fragile situations;
- Jointly with ENVI committee: Implementation and delivery of the SDGs in view of the 2025 High-Level Political Forum;
- with IFAD, IPES-Food and the Commission on enhancing food security in the context of the new "Vision for agriculture and food" and Policy Coherence for Development .

- Budget 2026: Pilot Projects and Preparatory Actions (PP-PAs) for pre-assessment by the Commission
- Requesting authorisation to draw up an opinion on the amended Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).

On 17 March, at 15:00 – 16:30 the AFET and DEVE Committees will meet with the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini for an exchange of views.
On 19 March, Members from the Committee on Development will exchange views with Jorge Moreira da Silva, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and UNOPS (UN Office for Project Services) Executive Director, and the European Commission, on the implementation of the Global Gateway strategy.
On 19 March, Members from the Committee on Development will exchange views with Mr Tom Fletcher, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, on challenges affecting the humanitarian system, including impact of the recent US foreign aid suspension, plight of civilians and attacks on humanitarian aid sector.
