The upcoming DEVE meeting will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on immunisation programmes in developing countries and GAVI's contribution to the global health development response to COVID-19. For that purpose, MEPs will exchange views with Dr Seth Berkley, Chief Executive Officer of the GAVI Alliance.
The newly released study on Intra-African migration will also be presented.

The meeting will take place remotely (via room Antall 6Q2) on 19 November, from 17:00 until 19:00, and will be webstreamed. Interpretation will be provided in EN, FR, DE, IT, ES, PL, HU.

On 29 October, the Committee on Development adopted an own-initiative report on “improving development effectiveness and efficiency of aid” presented by the Committee Chair, Tomas Tobé (EPP, Sweden). The vote was 23 in favour, 1 against and 0 abstentions.

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to an exchange of views with UN Women, represented by Anita Bhatia, Deputy Executive Director, on Gender equality, women's empowerment and the impact of COVID-19 on women in developing countries in 2020.
