The Budgets Committee will go over the state of play of the EU budget support to Afghanistan and to refugees from Afghanistan in neighbouring countries, on 27 September. The day after, the Committee will look into the 1450 amendments tabled to the Council's position on the Commission's Draft Budget for 2022. The rapporteurs’ compromise proposals aim to ensure that the 2022 budget supports the recovery from the COVID-19 crisis and lays the foundations for a more resilient Union.

The Committees on Budgets and on Budgetary Control will go over their draft own-initiative report on the revision of the Financial Regulation, on 28 September. The revision aims to align the Regulation with the legal acts adopted in the context of the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) package. The report sets out the committees’ views on the revision, notably as regards the improvement of parliamentary oversight, democratic accountability and ability to respond to citizens' needs.

The Committees on Employment and Social Affairs, and on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality will go over the draft report on the proposed Pay Transparency Directive, on 30 September. The report seeks to enhance the proposal by elaborating on provisions such as the right to information, pay reporting and obligations, gender-neutral job evaluation and classification systems, the role of workers’ representatives and social partners, intersectionality, equality bodies and monitoring bodies.

The Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality will look into the amendments tabled to the report on equality between women and men in the EU for the period 2018-2020. It will also go over its opinion on the proposed regulation on a single market for digital services (Digital Services Act). The opinion on adequate minimum wages in the European Union will be voted on the same day. The meeting will take place on 30 September.

The Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age will discuss the EU Data Strategy and the EU digital strategy for the next decade (the Digital Compass), at its hearing of 30 September. The perspectives of the industry, the civil society, the academia, and the Member States will be looked into together with experts. The hearing is set to take place roughly two months before the release of the "Data act", tentatively announced by the Commission for 1 December 2021.

The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development will hold a hearing on animal welfare on 30 September. The aim is to assess the implementation of related policies in terms of support, enablers and incentives to reinforce EU leadership and guarantee economic sustainability for farmers. The Committee will also vote on its opinion on the impact of organised crime on EU own resources.

The Committee on Budgetary Control will hold a debate with Laura Kövesi, European Chief Prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO), on 1 October. Having started its operations in June 2021, the EPPO is the new independent public prosecution office of the European Union and is responsible for investigating, prosecuting and bringing to judgment crimes against the financial interests of the EU.
