An exchange of views with Commissioner for Health Stella KYRIAKIDES will take place on Thursday 12 March from 9.00 in Brussels. The focus is expected to be on the Commissioner’s One-Health approach, changes in the food law, recent outbreaks of animal and plant diseases such as African Swine Fever and Xylella, animal welfare, bee health, the proper implementation of the legislation on pesticides, as well as GMOs and New Breeding Techniques.

On 18 February, the Executive Director of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Dr Bernhard Url, attended the AGRI meeting to update Members on topical EFSA activities and exchange views with them in a Q/A session after his presentation

The public hearing which took place on 18 February focused on EU support for Innovation in Agriculture: first, within the Common Agriculture Policy and the AGRI-EIP and second, in the EU Framework programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon Europe) and the future Mission “Soil health Food”.

On 17 February, the DG AGRI of the European Commission presented the study published last October, on "The best ways for producer organisations to be formed, carry out their activities and be supported”. An exchange of view will follow.
