The ECON Committee will hold a public hearing with Claudia Buch, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the ECB on Monday, 13 October 2025. This will be the second ordinary public hearing in 2025 under the Regulation on the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM Regulation) and the Interinstitutional Agreement between the European Parliament and the ECB.
On 13 October 2025, the ECON Committee will hold a hearing to assess the securitisation package amending the Securitisation Regulation (SECR) and the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR).
On 6 October 2025 from 21:00 to 22:00, the Members of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and the Committee on the Environment, Climate and Food Safety (ENVI) held a joint scrutiny session with Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque on the latest delegated act adopted under the EU Taxonomy Regulation in the context of the Omnibus I package.
The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) held its third monetary dialogue of the year with the President of the European Central Bank (ECB) on Monday, 6 October 2025, from 19:00 to 21:00 in Strasbourg.
On Thursday, 25 September 2025, from 11:00 to 12:30, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) hosted a Public Hearing on the “Implementation of Financial Sanctions: Making Better use of our Economic and Financial Instruments/ Frozen Russian assets under the sanctions package”.
On Wednesday, 24 September 2025, from 14:30 to 15:30, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) held an economic dialogue and exchange of views with Ms Stephanie Lose, ECOFIN President and Minister for Economic Affairs of Denmark. Ms Lose presented the priorities of the Danish Presidency in the Ecofin filière.

The ECON Committee is also responsible for tax matters and is assisted by a subcommittee on tax matters, for tax-related matters and particularly the fight against tax fraud, tax evasion and tax avoidance, as well as financial transparency for taxation purposes.
