At the ITRE Committee meeting of 23 March, ITRE members will engage in a debate with Ms Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, within the framework of the Committee's structured dialogue with the European Commission.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 24 March, ITRE members will engage in a debate with Mr Stéphane Séjourné, Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, within the framework of the Committee's structured dialogue with the European Commission.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 23 March, ITRE Members will have a topical debate on ending all dependence on Russian nuclear energy, in the presence of a representative from DG ENER, as well as a representative of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

At the joint SANT-ITRE Committee meeting of 19 March, Olivér Várhelyi, Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare, will present the European Biotech Act. This will be followed by a Q&A session with Members.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 26 February, ITRE Members had a topical debate on the concrete implementation of the steel and metals action plan, in the presence of a representative from DG GROW, European Commission.

On 26 February, the ITRE Committee held a Public Hearing on “Horizon Europe 2028-2034: Expert views and consideration”.

On 25 February 2026, the ITRE Committee held a Public Hearing on the "European Competitiveness Fund". Members had the opportunity to discuss the proposal for the second biggest fund of the next MFF 2028-2034 with a panel of five distinguished experts including the 2025 Nobel Prize Winner in Economics.
