Audições

Uma comissão é autorizada a organizar uma audição de peritos se entender que a mesma é indispensável para o seu trabalho sobre uma determinada questão. As audições também podem ser realizadas conjuntamente por duas ou mais comissões. A maioria das comissões organiza audições com regularidade, uma vez que as mesmas lhes permitem ouvir a opinião de peritos e debater questões fulcrais. The Committee on Legal Affairs together with the EP Coordinator on Children's Rights organised a public hearing entitled "Child protection under EU law" on Monday 28 June at 16.45-18.45. The main purpose of this hearing was to investigate the needs of children who find themselves facing civil, family or administrative proceedings and to explore how to achieve best practice in addressing these needs through EU law and policy, and in particular effective child friendly justice.

The JURI and LIBE committees jointly organised a hearing via remote means dedicated to SLAPPs (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation) on 3 June from 10.30 to 12.00.

On 23 March 2021 from 13:45 to 15:45, the Committees on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and Legal Affairs (JURI) organised jointly a public hearing on "Wirecard – Lessons learnt".

On 29 October 2020, a hearing on Union Citizenship will be jointly organised by the European Parliament (JURI, LIBE, AFCO and PETI Committees) and the European Commission. The hearing will see a keynote speech by Mr. Didier Reynders, Commissioner for Justice and the participation of the office of the European Ombudsman, as well as representatives from various NGOs.

On 3 December 2019, the JURI Committee hosted a public hearing on "Cross-border restitution claims of works of art and cultural goods looted in armed conflicts and wars".
