Missões

Uma comissão pode decidir efetuar uma deslocação a um Estado-Membro ou a um país terceiro ou participar em conferências internacionais. As missões são realizadas no exercício das competências atribuídas à comissão parlamentar em causa e nelas participa um número limitado dos seus membros. As comissões podem igualmente enviar, por um período não superior a três dias, uma delegação composta por três membros às agências para as quais têm competências específicas. On 20-24 June 2023, a delegation of the Committee on Legal Affairs visited San Francisco and Silicon Valley, California, USA. The joint JURI-AFCO fact-finding journey to the Czech Republic has been organised in the framework of the own-initiative report on the implementation of the principle of primacy of EU law - under Rule 58 of the Rules of Procedure (joint committee procedure 2022/2143(INI)) - for which Yana Toom (JURI) and Cyrus Engerer (AFCO) have been appointed Rapporteurs.

On 22-23 February 2023, six Members of the Committee on Legal Affairs visited the headquarters of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante, the main European agency for which the JURI Committee is responsible, in order to discuss current and upcoming Commission proposals in the area of intellectual property.

The JURI Committee leads on the proposal for a Directive on the protection of the environment through criminal law (2021/0422(COD)), on the proposals for a Directive on corporate sustainability reporting (2021/0104 (COD)) and for a Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (2022/0051(COD)).
