Hearing on "Interference through advertisement"

On 13 April, the INGE Special Committee organised, in association with the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), a hearing on "Interference through advertisement".

Along with three seasoned experts - Ms Nandini Jammi (Co-Founder of Sleeping Giant and of Check My Ads), Ms Clare Melford (Co-Founder and Executive Director of Global Disinformation Index) and Ms Ghita Harris-Newton (Director of Google Ads) -, the committees raised ads-related topics, such as election interference through advertisements and ad-funded disinformation, monetisation strategy used by disinformation actors, and the specific Google policy related to advertising and possible detection of messages promoting anti-democratic values.
