The next meeting of the Committee on International Trade will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, 15-16 April 2026.

INTA Members will vote to adopt the draft own initiative report on "Opportunities and challenges presented by a comprehensive artificial intelligence strategy for EU trade". Members will also hold an exchange on the conclusion of the negotiations for a Trade Agreement between the EU and Australia. Members will also exchange on the outcome of the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference in Yaoundé to which Parliament participated with an ad hoc delegation.
A delegation of four Members of the Committee on International Trade (INTA) will travel to Bern, Switzerland, from 31 March to 1 April 2026, to meet Swiss authorities, parliamentarians and stakeholders following the conclusion of the broad package of agreements with Switzerland, which aims to deepen and expand the EU-Switzerland relationship.
A delegation of eight INTA Members, led by Committee Chair Bernd Lange will travel to Yaoundé in Cameroon from 24 to 27 March 2026 on the occasion of the Ministerial Conference of WTO and Parliamentary Conference on WTO. The mission aim is to participate in high level meetings of the MC14 and session of the PCWTO which will be dedicated mainly to WTO reform and challenges - how to modernise the functioning of the WTO while preserving multilateralism in trade.
On 19 March, Members will vote on whether to approve the amendments to the International Cocoa Agreement. Members are also set to vote on the two legislative proposals implementing the EU commitments resulting from the EU-US deal reached in Turnberry, Scotland, in 2025. The final decision on whether to hold the vote on the two proposals will be taken by US Shadows during a meeting on 17 March.
