On 16 June 2022, from 09:30 to 11:00, the FISC Subcommittee will host a public hearing on ‘Case studies on Member States national tax policies - Ireland: implemented national tax reforms and the combat against aggressive tax schemes’.

The purpose of the hearing is to gather insights and opinions from experts on the corporate tax reforms implemented or envisaged in Ireland to address tax evasion and aggressive tax planning, as well as their interaction with other national tax systems, mainly in the EU but also with the main economic partners of Ireland outside the EU. The hearing will be an opportunity to examine remaining challenges and lessons to be learned for the EU and other Member States on the combat against aggressive tax systems.

The following experts have been invited:

  • Prof. Dr. Frank Barry, Professor of International Business & Economic Development, Trinity College Dublin

  • Mr. Seamus Coffey, Lecturer at University College Cork and former Chair of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council (IFAC)
