On 20 May 2025 from 15.00 – 16.00, ECON will hold a hearing with the three ESMA Directors that are part of the CCP Supervisory Committee and whose terms of office have been recently extended by the Board of Supervisors of ESMA.

On 20 May 2025 from 11.45 – 12.30, the Director General of Eurostat, Ms Mariana Kotzeva, will appear before ECON for a statistical dialogue. In accordance with Regulation (EU) 223/2009 on European Statistics, Eurostat shall annually inform the Parliament about matters pertaining to statistical governance, methodology and statistical innovation.

On 20 May 2025 from 11.00 – 11.45, the ECON Committee will hold an exchange of views with Mr Alfred Camilleri, Chair of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (ESGAB). The exchange will be focusing on the ESGAB annual report for 2024. The report provides a historical overview of ESGAB’s recommendations and assessments and addresses the legislative framework governing European statistics.

On 13 May from 15:00 to 16:30, the BUDG, CONT and ECON committees have invited Mr Lefteris Christoforou, the European Court of Auditors' Member who led the audit team of its Special report 07/2025 on “The European Fund for Strategic Investments”.

On Monday 28 April, from 15.00 to 16.00, Luis de Guindos, Vice-President of the European Central Bank (ECB), as usual presented to the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) the ECB’s Annual Report followed by an exchange of views.

On 23 April 2025, from 14:30 to 16:30, the BUDG and the ECON Committees hosted a public hearing on “InvestEU: lessons learned and future perspectives”.
