Impacts of COVID-19 on EU fisheries and aquaculture

EU’s fisheries and aquaculture sectors have been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 crisis although the signs of recovery in the supply chains could be seen already in the second half of 2020. PECH chair Pierre Karleskind announces a recent study that demonstrates the overall good response of the sector due to the operators’ resilience and prompt mitigation measures enacted by the EU and the Member States.

Other issues featured in this edition include national parliaments, EU health agencies, policy actions on foreign subsidies and in public procurement, and new technologies in tax policies. Forthcoming publications and events are announced.
