LIBE, AFCO and EUDS Committees are organising jointly a public hearing on "Democracy and elections in the AI era" which will take place on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, from 16.30 to 18.00.

On 19 March, the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will host an exchange of views with the Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner, on the upcoming revision of Europol’s mandate.

On 2nd of March, LIBE Committee held an exchange of views on the growing systemic risks posed by AI systems to media pluralism, editorial autonomy and democratic discourse, particularly in the context of AI-powered search and information curation.

On 2nd of March, the LIBE Committee hosted a Public Hearing on the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) calling for a "Ban on conversion practices in the European Union".

On 24 February, the LIBE Committee organised a Public Hearing on ‘Empowering Police and Judicial Authorities: Towards More Effective and Lawful Data Access for Law Enforcement Purposes’.

On 23 February, the LIBE Committee held an exchange of views on countering foreign interferences and defending the EU's critical infrastructure with Ms Despina Spanou, Deputy Director-General at the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology.
