On 23 May 2023, LIBE Members heard from representatives of the NGO Medecins sans Frontières, Frontex, and from the Italian Guardia Costiera and Guardia di Finanza.

The European Parliament invited experts to discuss perspectives for the EU legal migration framework, around the Commission proposals in the Skills and Talent package and in view of 2021 Parliament's own initiative reports.

On Tuesday, 23 May 2023, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs held two exchanges of views dedicated to protection of personal data:

On 11 May, IMCO and LIBE Members voted in joint committee the report on the Artificial Intelligence Act.

The hearing took place on 26 April in the context of the implementation of the new mandate of Eurojust to support investigations into war crimes in Ukraine. Its aim was to provide a state of play on the ongoing investigations, supported by Ukrainian prosecutors and the ICC, and to reflect on recommendations to strengthen EU support.

Commissioner Jourová, Vice-President for Values and Transparency, exchanged with LIBE Members in the context of the "Structured dialogue" between Commission and Parliament.

At the LIBE meeting of 26 April, Vice-President Šuica provided LIBE members with an overview of the (legislative) initiatives recently adopted, as well as those still to be adopted in the field of responsibility of the Vice President and relevant for the LIBE Committee.
