Workshop on Type-approval requirements for motor vehicles
Each year, more than 1.25 million people die worldwide as a result of road traffic crashes and 50 million people get injured. In EU, over 25.000 Europeans die each year in road accidents and over a million is injured. The workshop will gather MEPs, industry experts, associations and stakeholders, to analyse the latest digital technologies which can help to reduce fatalities and injuries caused by road accidents.
The workshop is a part of legislative work on the proposal of EU regulation on type-approval for motor vehicles as regards their general safety and the protection of vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users COM(2018) 286.
The workshop will be chaired by MEP Róża THUN, IMCO Rapporteur for this file.
The workshop will be held on the 29th of November 2018 from 15h00 to 18h00 in the European Parliament (A1 G-2).
The workshop is organised by Policy Department for Economic, Scientific and Quality of Life Policies at the request of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO).

Contribution of Internal market and Consumer Protection to Growth
A study prepared for IMCO Committee on Contribution of Internal Market to Growth indicated that European Internal Market and consumer protection can bring up to 14% increase in EU GDP over 2011-2020. On 10 July 2018 (15.00-18.30, room: Altiero Spinelli A5E2) Policy Department A will organise a workshop in order to evaluate the achieved benefits of legislative actions in the areas of customs and free movement of goods; free movements of services and freedom of establishment,
The workshop will be chaired by: MEP Ms Dita CHARANZOVA (Vice-Chair of IMCO Committee), MEP Ms Róża THUN (Chair of the Digital Single Market Working Group), MEP Mr Ivan ŠTEFANEC and MEP Mr Jasenko SELIMOVIC with involvement of independent experts from European academia and think tanks.

Public Procurement Strategy Package
The objective of the workshop is to give a chance to Members to interact with academics, regulators and stakeholders on this topic which touches upon a number of different technical aspects. It will be an opportunity to receive feedback on the Commission's initiatives, as well as to obtain factual information from experts in the field of public procurement about how the legal and policy framework works in the Union, and whether the Commission's plans address sufficiently the challenges ahead.

Reforming professional services
Policy Department A is organising for IMCO Committee a workshop on reforming professional services. The workshop will be chaired by MEP Nicola Danti. Two expert panels will focus on economic effects of regulating professional services and recommendations for policy -makers. The panels will be followed by a roundtable with industry experts. Reforming Single Market for fertilising products
The Workshop on reforming Single Market for fertilisers products will discuss the balance between the proposed regulation and the needs of all market participants as well as general obligations for economic operators.
