ENVI Committee meetings
The next ENVI Committee meetings will take place in Brussels on:
- Monday, 30 May 2022, from 15:45 to 17:45 (joint ECON-ENVI)
- Thursday, 2 June 2022, from 9:00 to 12:00
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.
Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.

On 16 and 17 May, ENVI Members voted on a number of sweeping proposals underpinning the Union’s increased climate ambition towards 2030 and the climate neutrality objective of 2050.

On Wednesday, 11 May 2022, ENVI members voted on the draft report on CO2 emission standards for cars and vans, by Rapporteur Jan Huitema (Renew), who proposes legally binding CO2 emission performance standards for passenger cars and vans.

On Wednesday 11 May 2022, the ENVI Committee, jointly with the DEVE Committee, held an exchange of views with Commissioner Gentiloni on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On 11 May, ENVI considered the draft report on the Waste Shipment Regulation. The Commission's proposal aims to address the polluting effects of transboundary waste shipments and illegal waste exports, while boosting the circular economy.

The Social Climate Fund (SCF) report, a joint report by EMPL and ENVI (Rapp. Casa and De Lange), will be put to the vote on Wednesday 18 May.

On Thursday 28 April 2022, the Commission presented its proposal on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence to the ENVI Committee.

On Thursday, 28 April 2022, ENVI Committee held an exchange of views with Executive Vice-President Timmermans, as part of the annual structured dialogue exchange.

On Thursday 28 April 2022, the ENVI Committee voted on the draft opinions on the ReFuelEU Aviation and FuelEU Maritime files, presented by Rapporteurs for opinion Nicolás González Casares and Tiemo Wölken respectively.

On 21 April, ENVI Members discussed with Commission’s DG Environment about the implications of the barrier that is currently being built between the Polish-Belarus border on the status of strictly protected Natura 2000 sites and their unique biodiversity status.
