Welcome message from the Chair
Welcome to the website of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries, i.e. Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria
As the elected Chair of the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries, I have the honour of presiding over our regular meetings in Brussels and Strasbourg, and setting the agenda and priorities for the work.
Our ordinary meetings enable Delegation members to remain up to date with the political, economic, social developments in the Mashreq region and the ways and to work on the challenges facing these countries as well as on the EU's responses to the key issues.
Given the increasing instability in the region, our Delegation will focus primarily on promoting dialogue for peace, democracy and development with our partner countries. We will work to strengthen our institutional cooperation with our parliamentary counterparts, civil society and political players in each of the Mashreq countries.
You are welcome to attend our meetings in Brussels or Strasbourg, or to follow the livestreaming of our meetings on this website.

Bienvenue sur le site de la Délégation du Parlement européen pour les relations avec les pays du Machrek, c'est à dire l'Egypte, la Jordanie, le Liban et la Syrie.
En ma qualité de Président élu de la Délégation Machrek, j'ai l'honneur de présider nos réunions ordinaires à Bruxelles et à Strasbourg, ainsi que de fixer l'ordre du jour et les priorités des travaux.
Nos réunions permettent aux membres de la Délégation de rester informés sur les développements politiques, économiques et sociaux dans la région du Machrek, de travailler aux défis auxquels ces pays sont confrontés et sur les réponses apportées par l'UE aux principaux enjeux.
Vu l'instabilité croissante dans la Région, notre Délégation devra principalement se concentrer sur la promotion du dialogue pour la paix, la démocratie et le développement avec les pays partenaires. Nous travaillerons à renforcer notre coopération institutionnelle avec nos homologues parlementaires, la société civile et les acteurs politiques de chacun des pays du Machrek.
